President Ersin Tatar said on Wednesday that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was striving to attain international standards in production.
Receiving executives of the Turkish Standards Institute headed by Mahmut Sami Şahin, President Tatar expressed the TRNC’s pride in having achieved production standards capable of competing within the Turkish economy.
He said work will continue in the TRNC to obtain universal standards at its own scale.
“That is why your presence and the guidance you provide is extremely important,” the president said.
Tatar pointed out that the TRNC, which was a relatively young state, possessed immense potential in terms of investment, particularly in higher education, tourism and construction.
The President of the Turkish Standards Institute Mahmet Sami Şahin for his part said that they had carried out their first official visit to President Ersin Tatar.
He briefed the president on the work carried out by the institute both internationally and in the TRNC.
