FM Ertuğruloğlu came together with Turkish FM Çavuşoğlu

Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu is holding a series of contacts in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

Minister Ertuğruloğlu who is in Ankara upon the invitation of the Turkish National Defence Minister Hulusi Akar came together with his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu is in Ankara upon an invitation from the Turkish National Defence Minister Hulusi Akar to attend the 30th of August Victory Day celebrations.

As part of his contacts in the Turkish capital, Ertuğruloğlu attended a lunch given in his honour by the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

The latest developments on the Cyprus issue and possible contacts to be carried out within the framework of the upcoming visit to New York in September were evaluated during the lunch which was also attended by the delegations of the two countries.

The TRNC foreign minister also met with the Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar on Wednesday at a joint meeting of high-ranking military officials, other defence ministers and deputy ministers.

Speaking during the meeting, Ertuğruloğlu stressed that Cyprus was a national cause for the Turkish nation.

Meanwhile, the Turkish Minister shared the pictures of his meeting with Ertuğruloğlu via his twitter account.

“We are hosting TRNC Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu on our Victory Day. We destroyed the dreams of those who tried to destroy us in 1922 and 1974. We did this together.”

As part of his other contacts in Ankara, Ertuğruloğlu attended the graduation ceremony at the Turkish Military Academy of the National Defence University.

He then attended the 30th of August Victory Day concert which was organized by the Turkish National Defence Ministry and held at the Turkish Presidential Complex.

The TRNC Security Forces Command Band also performed at the concert.

Minister Ertuğruloğlu who will be moving onto Istanbul for more contacts will be returning to the island on Thursday.
