Töre: Parliament will hold an extraordinary meeting on Cyprus issue

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre announced that the General Assembly of the Parliament will hold an extraordinary meeting on the Cyprus issue on September 13 upon a request by President Ersin Tatar before his New York visit.

The Speaker of Parliament Zorlu töre attended a live program on BRT 1 on Thursday morning.

Töre announced that the General Assembly of the Parliament will hold an extraordinary session upon a request from President Ersin Tatar.

Explaining that the General Assembly of the Parliament will hold an extraordinary meeting on the Cyprus issue on September 13 upon the call of President Ersin Tatar, before his New York visit, the Parliamentary Speaker said “I think that the main opposition will also participate in this meeting as common sense requires this.”

Evaluating the Municipalities reform, Töre reminded that the local elections will be held on November 27.

“Even if the opposition wants some of the items to be renegotiated, the number of municipalities that has been approved as 18 will not change” he said.

Töre also added that election restrictions will begin on September 28.
