President Ersin Tatar has said that citizens living abroad were the voice of the Turkish Cypriots. Receiving the heads and a member of the Australian-Victoria and Sydney Turkish Association of Northern Cyprus, Tatar said that the emotion of serving the just cause of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was felt in the hearts of every Turkish Cypriot.

President Ersin Tatar received the President of the Australian-Victoria Turkish Association of Northern Cyprus Candan Ahmet, the President of the Sydney Turkish Association of Northern Cyprus Timur Mehmet and a member of the Association Serkan Hüseyin on Thursday.

Stating that he regularly held online meetings with representatives of the Turkish Cypriot community in different cities across Australia, Tatar said that citizens living in Australia continued to be the voice of the just cause of the Turkish Cypriot people.

He added that this made him proud.

“The struggle waged by the Turkish Cypriot people for years has reached a certain stage. Those who emigrated from Cyprus have established a life in Australia and our fellow citizens have succeeded in being the voice of the Turkish Cypriot people in different institutions and organizations,” Tatar said.

He added that they will continue to promote the Turkish Cypriot side’s policy for a two-state solution based on sovereign equality and that it was important that Turkish Cypriots living abroad defended this new vision.
