Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre stated that he welcomed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly and that they sincerely salute Türkiye’s determined stance on Cyprus.

Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre issued a written statement and noted that the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized the need for the registration of the sovereign rights of the Turkish Cypriot people in his historic speech at the United Nations General Assembly and that he was pleased that Erdoğan invited the international community to officially recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

“Thanks to Türkiye’s determined stance in the Eastern Mediterranean, the rights and interests of the Turkish Cypriot people are comprehensively protected. Therefore, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is advancing by further strengthening its unwavering ties in cooperation with Motherland Türkiye” said Töre.

Noting that despite some political and military tensions in the region, an environment of peace and stability continues under the leadership of Türkiye, Töre reminded that the grain shipment crisis caused by the war in Ukraine was resolved thanks to the safe food corridor created under the mediation of Türkiye.

“As the President of the Motherland of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, once again stated in a speech at the UN General Assembly that ‘the world is bigger than five’ and today Türkiye’s increasing global prestige as a regional power confirms this statement” said Töre.
