Tatar attended and delivered a speech at Bone and Joint 2022 Congress

President Ersin Tatar said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has made great strides in different fields in recent years, dealing successfully with the Covid-19 pandemic.

He said the TRNC can look to the future with hope thanks to its political and economic successes.

Tatar was speaking at the Bone and Joint 2022 Congress organized by the Turkish Bone and Joint Society.

Delivering a speech at the congress held in Girne on Wednesday night, President Ersin Tatar said he was pleased to see the congress being held in the TRNC, pointing out that the Turkish Cypriot people were part of the Turkic world.

Referring to his meeting with Azerbaijani President İlham Aliyev in Konya, President Tatar expressed his hope that relations with Azerbaijan will be further developed despite the political difficulties and unjustified obstacles.

“As a Turkish state in the Eastern Mediterranean, we are the representative of the Turkic republics in the region,” Tatar said, adding that they were all part of the Greater Turkish nation, united at heart and soul.

Touching upon the genocide the Turkish Cypriot people experienced and the isolation they are subjected to, President Tatar stressed that the TRNC has successfully progressed in every field thanks to its skilled people.

Pointing out to the importance of the support received from Türkiye in the studies carried out in the health system, Tatar noted that there were very valuable Turkish Cypriot doctors.

He concluded his speech by highlighting the importance of developing the health sector and wishing the congress success in its studies.
