Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu told BRT on Monday that the government was working intensively to pass legislation that will help ease the financial burden of the state.
Responding to a question on tourism, Ataoğlu also said that steps were being taken to bring tourism, the economy’s locomotive sector, to the level it deserves.
Regarding the new airport, Minister Ataoğlu explained that there were efforts being made to lower ticket prices once the new airport becomes operational on November 15.
“We need to increase the number of tourists as well as the bed capacity at hotels. There is also work being carried out to boost various tourism areas in the country,” he said.
