The TMT Fighters Association commemorated Kenan Çoygun on the 17th anniversary of his death.
The ceremony was realised at the Mücahitler Sitesi in the capital Lefkoşa.
The Cyprus TMT Fighters Association held a commemorative ceremony for the former TMT Commander, retired General Kenan Çoygun on the 17th anniversary of his death.
The deputy chairman of the Cyprus TMT Fighters Association Celal Bayar readout Kenan Çoygun’s biography and explained the important role played by Çoygun in the Turkish Cypriot peoples struggle for existence.
He reminded that when Çoygun was asked to serve in Cyprus as TMT Leader in 1962, he accepted this duty without hesitation, risking his life.
Pointing out that every region had become a point of resistance against Greek Cypriot attacks during the years of struggle, Bayar said that thanks to the resilient Turkish Cypriot people and the skills of Colonel Kenan Çoygun, a mujahedeen army had been created and they were victorious in their fights.
