President Ersin Tatar received the Turkish Deputy Minister of Family and Social Services Rıdvan Duran and his accompanying delegation on Tuesday.
Speaking during the visit, President Tatar pointed to the importance of the state’s touch on family integrity, family structure, persons with disabilities and special needs and emphasized that the work on these issues were brought to a certain level.
Noting that they followed with appreciation the work carried out in Türkiye to implement legislation to extend the state’s hand to those in need, the President expressed his satisfaction with the work carried out in cooperation with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Explaining that there were studies on family and social services carried out by the Office of the President, he said studies were carried out in consultation with the Turkish Ministry of Family and Social Services.
Referring to the Family Workshop carried out under the auspices of First Lady Sibel Tatar, President Tatar said that they aimed to improve the quality of life, rights and freedoms of people with disabilities with the policies they aim to introduce.
Also referring to the work carried out by the Presidential Committee on Persons with Disabilities and the Accessibility Seminar held under the auspices of the Presidency, Tatar stated that they had received positive feedback.
Stating that work to establish a system that will allow people with hearing impairments to receive health care in case of emergencies had begun, the president said that as a result of the cooperation carried out with YÖDAK, arrangements are being made to make the lives of persons with disabilities receiving higher education easier.
Underlining the importance of the state’s support to its citizens in every field, Tatar thanked motherland Türkiye for the unwavering support it provides to the Turkish Cypriot people.
The Turkish Deputy Minister of Family and Social Services Rıdvan Duran for his part stated that they were sharing their knowledge and experience with the TRNC.
