The Health Ministry has announced that Covid-19 booster shots will be available as of Wednesday morning.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry, reminder doses will first be made available for people 75 and older as well as health care workers.
It was stated that citizens who are in this group and want to be vaccinated can have the procedure carried out at health centres affiliated with the Department of Basic Health Services and hospitals.
People who want the booster shot must have had 2 doses of Biontech.
Those who have had a single dose of Biontech will not be considered fully vaccinated and they will have to complete their vaccination regime.
Those who have had 3 doses of Biontech will be able to receive a reminder dose.
The statement also noted that those who have had 4 doses of Biontech do not need to take a booster shot.
The statement also reminded people that booster shots should only be administered least 3 months after the previous dose.
It also said that people who have never been vaccinated and have had Covid-19, should start the Biontech vaccination process as though they are being vaccinated for the first time 3 months after their illness.
“People who have been vaccinated but have had Covid-19 will be able to get their reminder dose 3 months after they have recovered from the virus,” said the statement.
