Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu has critisized the decision by the Greek Cypriot House of Representatives to convert the Azina House, where, the founding leader of the terrorist organization EOKA, the murderer of the Turkish Cypriots, Georgios Grivas, was hiding in South Lefkoşa for a period of time into a museum.
“If the Greek Cypriot administration wants to show the new generation what the Turkish murderer, terrorist Grivas has done, I would recommend they visit the Museum of Barbarism in North Lefkoşa,” Ertuğruloğlu said.
Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu said that the decision to convert the building where the founding leader of the terrorist organization EOKA used to hide in Southern Lefkoşa for a period, into a museum, was the clearest demonstration that they always try to keep anti-Turkish and racist sentiment alive and that they feed off feelings of enmity against Turks.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Ertuğruloğlu said that all the Greek Cypriot administration needed to do was to recommend its youth to visit the Museum of Barbarism in North Lefkoşa to show them what the Turkish murderer, terrorist Grivas had done.
He added that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was full of mass graves of the Turks murdered by the EOKA terrorists.
“Our Greek Cypriot neighbours can safely cross into the TRNC and they can also see the atrocities committed by EOKA, led by Grivas, in Muratağa, Atlılar, Sandallar, Taşkent and other mass graves,” he said.
Ertuğruoğlu said that the Greek Administration, which pretended to engage in peace talks with the Turkish Cypriots, had recently stepped up its armament campaign while at the same time carrying out systematic genocide against the Turkish Cypriots.
He noted that Greek Cypriot attempts to take up arms and the decision to open a museum to keep the memories of the EOKA leader alive, once again showed how right the Turkish Cypriot side’s vision for two separate sovereign states in Cyprus was and how important it was for the continued presence of Turkish soldiers on the island.
“You may arm yourselves as much as you want, open as many museums in memory of terrorists as you want, but the Turkish Cypriots will continue to exist in their own sovereign state in Cyprus with the support of motherland Türkiye,” Foreign Minister Ertuğruloğlu stressed.
