The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has taken its place at the 2022 World Tourism Fair, one of the most prestigious fairs in the world.
The fair held at the World Travel Market in London will come to an end on Thursday.
President Ersin Tatar, who is holding a variety of contacts in London, was among those who visited the TRNC stand at the fair.
The Deputy Prime Ministry, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment has taken its place at the World Travel Market tourism fair taking place in the UK capital London.
The 2022 World Tourism Fair, which marks its 43rd anniversary this year, is taking place at its usual venue at the Excel fairground in London’s Docklands region.
51,000 tourism professionals are expected to visit the four-day fair, which is hosting around 5000 companies from 182 countries.
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus stand is located in the European and Mediterranean section and visitors are greeted with local delicacies.
Meanwhile, President Ersin Tatar, who is in London, visited the TRNC stand on Monday.
Speaking here the president expressed his belief that more tourists could be attracted to the TRNC with the right approach.
He said that the TRNC was the shining star of the Eastern Mediterranean with its nature, culture, investments and new airport.
He also emphasized that the country’s tourism potential had increased with the Maraş Initiative.
Also noting that the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism had stepped up its support to promote the TRNC abroad, Tatar thanked Türkiye for its support.
Touching upon the new Ercan Airport, President Tatar stated that up to an addition 500,000 tourists can be hosted annually once the new airport was opened.
Responding to a question regarding direct flights, President Tatar said, although there were currently no direct flights to the TRNC, efforts were continuing to ensure that passengers reached Ercan without having to change planes.
Meanwhile, the Turkish Minister of Tourism Nuri Ersoy also visited the North Cyprus stand during which he met with President Ersin Tatar.
Speaking there he noted that Türkiye will continue to support the promotion of North Cyprus tourism.
