As the 2022 World Tourism Fair continues at the World Travel Market in London the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus stand has received much attention.
Discussions with tour operators, global travel agencies, and officials dealing with transportation and accommodation continued throughout the day.
Some sector representatives stated that they were pleased with the interest and they were hopeful for 2023.
The Chairman of the Health Tourism Council Ahmet Savaşan stated that this year they had constructed an effective stand at the fair and noted that the ministry was carrying out very important work in the tourism sector.
Savaşan emphasized that they believed that the meetings at the fair will have important reflections next year in the tourism sector.
“As the Health Tourism Council, it is up to us to explain the products we have on offer for alternative tourism, especially health tourism, and to increase the tourism revenues of our country,” said Savaşan.
He said that despite the embargoes, the TRNC is a tourism country that has managed to bring in tourists 3 times more than its own population.
“We want to further develop health tourism. I think that important steps will be taken to encourage this field in the next legislative period. We need to be able to draw both young and old to the country” said Savaşan.
