In line with the 39th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus delegations from abroad are visiting state and government officials in the TRNC.
Within the framework of celebrations, the representative of the Turkish Ministry of National Defence, Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces, Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu paid a visit to Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel separately.
Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre stated that the Turkish Armed Forces are indispensable for the Turkish Cypriot people and added that the Turkish Armed Forces had come on the dawn of the 20th of July and should never leave the island.
“The guarantee of agreements should never be abandoned,” Töre said and added that now that the TRNC is on the verge of being recognized, unity and solidarity between the two countries should be further strengthened.
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel also received the visiting Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu.
Speaking here Üstel noted that tomorrow’s celebration is going to be bitter sweet due to the recent explosion in Türkiye and reiterated that the Turkish Cypriot people share both the joy and sorrow of motherland Türkiye.
The Commander of the Naval Forces Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu for his part reiterated that Türkiye will always support the TRNC and the Turkish Cypriot people and will never allow for any fait accompli to take place on the island.
