The Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop who was in the TRNC to attend Republic Day celebrations also paid visits to state and government officials.

Speaking during the visit, President Tatar strongly condemned the treacherous attack in İstanbul.
Expressing the hope that these incidents do not happen again, he noted that Türkiye would overcome all these by adding strength to its power.
“A strong Türkiye means a strong TRNC. The TRNC is getting stronger day by day. It has a say in the Eastern Mediterranean. Obtaining observer membership to the Organization of Turkic States is also a very important step” Tatar added.
The Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop for his part congratulated Tatar and the Turkish Cypriot people on the 39th anniversary of the establishment of the TRNC.
He said that he was honoured to be conveying the love and respect of all Turkish people.
Reminding that President Tatar presented the Turkish Cypriot side’s new policy in Geneva in April 2021, the TBMM Speaker noted that since then a new page had been opened on the Cyprus issue, and that the Republic of Türkiye was the biggest supporter of this policy.
Şentop who also congratulated the TRNC for achieving observer status at the Organization of Turkic States, said that the TRNC will be invited to attend the 12th General Assembly of the parliamentary assembly to be held in İstanbul in the coming days.
