President Tatar inaugurates the Republic Exhibition at NEU

President Ersin Tatar on Thursday inaugurated the Republic Exhibition, which is being organized to mark of the 39th anniversary of the proclamation of the TRNC.

The exhibition at the Near East University’s Atatürk Culture and Congress Centre Exhibition Hall is made up of paintings, sculptures, stained glass, ceramics and prints created by members of the NEU’s Faculty of Fine Arts and Design.

Delivering a speech at the opening, Tatar said he was honoured to inaugurate the university’s 429th exhibition.

Pointing out that the journey that led to the proclamation of the TRNC had not been easy; he said that an independent and free TRNC was of great importance for the Turkic world.

“Art lovers and academics from various Turkic states are serving at the Near East University. Numerous exhibitions were held at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. The works of artists from the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States carry us from history to the future. We are working for the strengthening of our state and for the independence and freedom of our people” Tatar added.
