The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu has said that tourism figures have rebounded to the pre-pandemic period.
He said that efforts were underway to produce new tourism projects.
Speaking to the Anadolu News Agency (AA), Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu on Friday said that he was pleased to see tourism figures in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) recover to pre-pandemic period.
Ataoğlu said that they were working on developing new alternative tourism projects such as marinas, golf courses as well as two cable cars for Girne.
The tourism minister also said that they were expecting airline companies to introduce new charter flights to the TRNC following the completion of the new Ercan Airport Terminal building and runway.
“All of these will contribute to developing the country’s tourism sector,” he said.
