The Republic of Ireland donated 25,000 Euros to the Committee on Missing Persons (CMP) in Cyprus.
According to a statement released by the CMP, the Republic of Ireland donated 25,000 Euros to the committee on Tuesday.
With this donation, the Republic of Ireland has provided a total of 425,000 Euros of financial aid to the CMP since 2006.
It is reported that in 2023 these funds will support the General Excavation, Identification and Return of the Remains of Missing Persons Project of the Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus, which aims to end the obscurity that has affected families for many years.
It has been recorded that 1028 missing persons from both communities have been identified so far and returned to their families for burials.
