The 10th Lefkoşa Marathon organized by the Lefkoşa Turkish Municipality was realized on Sunday.
The marathon was a great example of solidarity amongst the people.
The 10th Lefkoşa Marathon organised by the Lefkoşa Turkish Municipality is held under a different social responsibility project every year.
This year’s motto for the marathon was “Lefkoşa Running for our Beloved”.
Thousands of citizens from all walks of life joined the marathon to demonstrate a healthy life style and show gratitude.
The income from this year’s marathon will be used to build a new facility for the elderly.
13,000 people participated in the marathon, which was organized under the main sponsorship of Armani Exchange and in cooperation with the TRNC Athletics Federation.
The marathon began with 10km and 21km half marathons.
Lefkoşa Mayor Mehmet Harmancı gave the start to the 4km public race, in which citizens showed great interest in.
