Ceremonies are being held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to mark the 18th of March Martyr’s Remembrance Day and the 107th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory.
Separate ceremonies were held in Lefkoşa, Girne, Boğaz, Gazimağusa, Güzelyurt, İskele and Lefke.
President Ersin Tatar attended the ceremony that was realised at the Boğaz Martyrs Cemetery this morning.
Wreaths were laid a minutes silence was observed and flags were hoisted to the reciting of the National Anthem.
The Martyrs Special Book was signed following the delivering of speeches highlighting the significance of the day.
President Ersin Tatar handed a bag of soil collected from the Boğaz Martyrs Cemetery to the Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Ali Murat Başçeri.
Speaking during the ceremony, President Tatar said that the Çanakkale Victory showed the whole world that the Turkish Nation will not give up on its state or country.
The ceremony ended with a tour of the cemetery and the placing of flowers on the graves.
