The 1st Mormenekşe Culture, Art and Producer Fete was realized over the weekend in the Mormenekşe village.
The fete aims at keeping the culture of the region alive and contributing to the economy of households in the area.
A variety of products that are a part of Turkish Cypriots culture were on sale and a variety of food made from artichokes were offered to those who attended the fete.
Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu and Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre were among those who attended the event.
Speaking there Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu pointed out that the pandemic and the war in Russia has negatively affected not only the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) but the whole world.
He said that everyone is struggling due to its impact on the world economy.
Drawing attention to the importance of being patient, Sucuoğlu noted that there are problems in many areas including shortages of basic foodstuffs but that with patience all of these problems can be overcome.
Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre for his part noted that Mormenekşe is the capital of culture and arts and added that as a nation great importance is given to culture, arts and producers.
He emphasized the necessity of continuing such activities that support economic life and called on everyone to become aware of the value of the state and culture.
