Health Minister Ünal Üstel announced that the 4th jab is now available for health workers at the Emergency Hospital in the capital Lefkoşa.
Issuing a written statement on Sunday, Üstel said that health workers who have received two doses of Sinovac and their 3rd jab as Biontech vaccine can now receive their 4th jab at the Emergency Hospital.
He added that the 4th jab vaccination will continue in the coming days according to the schedule to be set out by the Health Ministry.
Üstel also stressed that those who are travelling abroad will be able to receive a 2nd dose of Biontech vaccine provided that their 3rd jab was also the Biontech vaccine and have had two doses of Sinovac vaccine.
Pointing out that it was more important to follow the social distancing rules and wearing masks during the winter months as people will be spending more time indoors, he said rules must be followed to prevent the increase in the number of cases in the country.
Reminding that providing Adapass or Covid-19 tests were compulsory at businesses like shopping centres, restaurants and cafes with the aim of reducing infection indoors, Üstel added that the Health Ministry will increase its inspections at indoor venues.
