Vice-Chairman of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Turkey Numan Kurtulmuş said that opening the fenced-off town of Maraş was proof that Turkey believed in the sovereignty Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Speaking at an event in the Kocaeli region of İzmit Turkey, Kurtulmuş also referred to the hydrocarbon research activities in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Black Sea and said that Turkey was continuing on its path with great sensitivity.
“In addition to already discovered resources, we will continue our course with many more discoveries,” Kurtulmuş said.
Also referring to the re-opening of the fenced-off city of Maraş, the AKP Vice-Chairman Kurtulmuş said that they succeeded in opening Maraş despite objections put forward, and once again proved that Turkey believed in the sovereignty of the TRNC.
