Türkiye resolutely continues its fight against terrorism to protect its borders and citizens, Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar told reporters after Monday’s cabinet meeting.

He said that it was Türkiye’s most natural right to conduct cross border operations for the protection of its country and borders.

Responding to questions following Monday’s cabinet meeting at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, Türkiye’s Minister of Defence Hulusi Akar said that Ankara was determined to continue its fight against terrorism and to defend its borders as well as citizens from all threats.

“It is Türkiye’s most natural and legitimate right to carry out operations for its security and the safety of its citizens,” he said in response to a question.

Akar also said that all necessary action will be taken to neutralise terrorists as and when necessary.

Regarding another question whether Türkiye will start talks with the Syrian regime, the Turkish Defence Minister said this was a process which depended on certain conditions and the situation.
