Akar: Turkey is in favour of dialogue to solve problems

The Turkish Minister of National Defence Hulusi Akar stated that activities in the Aegean, the Eastern Mediterranean and Cyprus are continuing.

He emphasized once again that Turkiye is in favour of solving problems within the framework of international law, through dialogue and peaceful methods.

Speaking during an inspection at the Qatar-Turkish Joint Force Command in Qatar, where he attended the Doha Forum Akar reiterated Turkiye’s stance that is in favour of solving problems through dialogue and international law.

Stating that they have made great efforts in this regard, Akar said, “We ask our neighbors not to create tensions, not to strain our relations, not to push our problems towards deadlock.”

He concluded by calling on their neighbouring countries to focus negotiations on reducing tensions as soon as possible.
