Akar: We will not allow any fait accompli in Cyprus, Aegean and East Med

Turkish Minister of National Defence Hulusi Akar said that although they were open for dialogue in Cyprus, the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean, they will not allow any fait accompli.

The Türkiye-Georgia-Azerbaijan Defence Ministers Meeting was held in Kayseri. Speaking at a joint press conference held after the signing of the “Trilateral Meeting Final Declaration”, Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar said that the ninth Türkiye-Georgia-Azerbaijan Defence Ministers Meeting was held this year.

Akar stressed that although they were open to dialogue in Cyprus, the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean, they will not allow any fait accompli.

“We are determined and capable of protecting the rights and interests of both ours and our Cypriot brothers and sisters” Akar said adding that they expected an impartial, objective, reasonable and logical approach from the US and other NATO allies on this issue.
