Health Minister İzlem Gürçağ Altuğra has said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’s success in its management of the pandemic was the result of Turkiye’s support.

In an interview with the Anadolu News Agency on Tuesday, Altuğra said that there were numerous problems in the health sector which needed to be addressed but that they had prepared a road map to tackle these issues.

She added that they had set short term and medium term goals to address the outstanding problems.

The TRNC health minister also reminded the public not to neglect their booster shots for Covid-19 and for the unvaccinated to get their jabs.

Altuğra also pointed out that a large section of the 2022 Financial and Economic Cooperation Protocol was focused on health.

“We cannot succeed without working in harmony with Turkiye. Our goals include building new hospitals, upgrading equipment and our facilities,” she said.
