The Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı said on Wednesday that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s speech at the UN General Assembly calling on the recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was a turning point.
The Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı evaluated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s call for the official recognition of the TRNC during his address at the 77th UN General Assembly.
Arıklı stressed that Turkish President Erdoğan’s speech calling on the recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was a turning point.
Noting that the door was closed for federation talks with the Greek Cypriots, Arıklı said “from now on, we need to make attempts for the recognition. After that door is completely closed, we, as the TRNC, have steps to take with Türkiye.”
