The Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı has said that work was continuing to complete the new Ercan Airport in time for the November 15 celebrations.
He added that routine inspections will take place at the airport.
The Minister of Public Works and Transportation Erhan Arıklı took part in a meeting regarding the level of progress reached at the new Ercan Airport and the problems that need to be overcome.
Issing a statement after the meeting, Arıklı said that the necessary initiatives were made in the presence of Turkish authorities for the timely delivery of technical equipment in order for the new airport to become operational in time for the 15th of November Republic Day celebrations.
He also said that a meeting will be held every week in order to discuss the progress being made at the airport.
