Ataoğlu delivers opening speech at fair

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu delivered a speech at the 1st Mesopotamian Tourism and Gastronomy Fair held in Diyarbakır.

“Tourism has no religion, language or race. We all witness the contribution tourism provides when spoken in the same language. Tourism alongside its economic dimensions is an important factor that triggers cultural and social developments” said Ataoğlu.

Touching upon the historical and natural riches of Diyarbakır, Ataoğlu pointed to the bond that exists between Diyarbakır and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the fields of higher education and commerce adding that they as the TRNC are ready to collaborate and work towards further strengthening this bond.

Ataoğlu visited the TRNC booth together with the Governor of Diyarbakır Münir Karaloğlu and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of the Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) Firuz Bağlıkaya.

Alongside Molehiya which was prepared by Masterchef Ziya Türksel, local cuisines were offered to those who visited the TRNC booth at the fair.
