The Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus had earned the reputation of the “safest country” thanks to the successful management of the pandemic, the low number of daily cases and the smoothly functioning health system.

Ataoğlu speaking at the Antalya Tourism Fair in Turkey invited everyone to visit North Cyprus and to discover its natural beauty and history.

The TRNC is taking part in this year’s tourism fair in Antalya as a partner country.

Addressing the expo’s opening ceremony, Tourism Minister Fikri Ataoğlu said that the TRNC had swiftly introduced and implemented the “Stay Safe Certification Programme” hosting visiting tourists in healthy and hygienic conditions.

He added that his ministry had also introduced a number of incentives, support schemes and subsidies for the tourism industry, all of which contributed to keeping the sector going.

Tourism professionals, sector representatives and tourism ministry officials are representing the TRNC at the fair.

Meanwhile, a ‘North Cyprus Night’ was organised on Wednesday in Antalya within the framework of the fair.

German and Russian tour operators showed great interest at the event during which a promotion video was screened.
