Ataoğlu speaks to AA

The Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Atoğlu who attended the Antalya Tourism Fair gave an interview to the Anadolu Agency (AA) in the city where he evaluated the opening process of the closed city of Maraş.

Reminding that the gradual opening process of Maraş started last year after 46 years, Ataoğlu explained that first the coastal region and then a different route was opened at Maraş.

Noting that following the opening many locals and foreign tourists visited the Maraş despite the pandemic, he stressed that Maraş was an alternative for tourism.

Stating that there were many people from all around the world who want to visit Maraş, Ataoğlu said “there is a serious influx of visitors. The opening of Maraş was a positive step for tourism. There are tourists who are coming to the country to visit Maraş.”

Minister Ataoğlu also stressed that they were acting in cooperation with Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism to further develop the TRNC tourism.

Referring to the strong cooperation with Turkey, he noted that the name of the TRNC was introduced at fairs which Turkey is attending.

Expressing his gratitude to Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy for his support, Ataoğlu said “our cooperation with Turkey is increasing every passing day.”

Minister Ataoğlu also invited the Turkish citizens to visit the TRNC and see its historical and natural beauties.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Tourism and Environment is being represented at the “World Tourism Market 2021” which is being held in London between November 1 and 3.

The Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu in a statement said that the promotional activities carried out by the Ministry will start bearing fruit in 2022 and adding that the Ministry was working hard to succeed in this direction.

A virtual fair under the name of “WTM London Virtual” which is an extend of the fair will take place between November 8-9.
