The outgoing Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Ali Murat Başceri is paying farewell visits to state and government officials.

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre, who received Ambassador Başceri on Wednesday, thanked Başçeri for his services and wished him success at his new post.

The Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre received the Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa, whose term in office in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has ended.

Speaking during the visit, Ambassador Başçeri reminded that his 4-year term in office has come to an end and expressed his desire for an even brighter future for the TRNC.

Parliamentary Speaker Töre for his part noted that the national cause in Cyprus was always defended together with motherland Türkiye and said therefore it was a great honour to serve here.

Expressing his belief that Başçeri will be remembered for his good dialogue and strong ties with the Turkish Cypriot people, he stated that during his time in Cyprus, very important projects had been carried out or initiated with the support of motherland Türkiye.

Töre also thanked Ambassador Başçeri on behalf of the Turkish Cypriot people and the members of the Parliament for his services and wished him success in his new duties.
