A former Interior Minister of Türkiye Burhan Cahit Bayar passed away at the age of 87.
Bayar, who also served as Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa, was buried today.
Burhan Cahit Bayar, one of Türkiye’s former Interior Ministers, passed away at the age of 87.
Bayar passed away on Sunday at his home in Ankara, due to old age-related ailments. Bayar was laid to rest on Monday following funeral prayers held at the Karşıyaka Ahmet Efendi Mosque at noon.
Bayar, who also served as Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa, served as the Minister of Interior in the 56th Government of the Republic of Türkiye between January 11, 1999 and May 29 1999.
