Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu who is in New York as part of the 76th General Assembly meetings came together with the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borell on Thursday.
The Cyprus issue and the Eastern Mediterranean issue were among the issues discussed during the meeting
“The EU should cooperate with Turkey for international and regional stability,” Çavuşoğlu tweeted after the meeting.
In a separate tweet, Borell said close collaboration and coordination with Turkey were the basis of the relations.
“It was nice to come together with Çavuşoğlu during the UN General Assembly meeting. Alongside EU-Turkey relations we also discussed the Cyprus issue, the Eastern Mediterranean and the latest developments in Afghanistan” Borell tweeted.
