Ombudsperson İlkan Varol attended the “International Symposium on Climate Change and the Right to Food” held in Ankara under the auspices of the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye.
The symposium started with an opening speech of the President of the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye, Prof. Dr. Muharrem Kılıç. Following the opening speech, presentations were made in four sessions by 18 speakers at national and international level.
On the first day of the two-day program, sessions titled “Assessment of the Human Rights Dimensions of the Right to Climate Change and the Right to Food”, “Climate Change and the Right to Food in Terms of Legal Practice”, on the second day, sessions titled “Climate Change and the Right to Food in the Context of Urbanization and Migration”, “Climate Change and the Right to Food” and “The Impact of the Crisis on Disadvantaged Groups” were held.
Ombudsperson İlkan Varol and Azerbaijan Human Rights Commissioner Sabina Aliyeva attended the Symposium where the presented papers will be published by the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye.
