Voters who are close contacts of persons who have tested positive for Covid-19 will be able to cast their votes in the early elections to be held on Sunday, the head of the High Electoral Council Narin Ferdi Şefik said on Monday.
6,000 individuals who will be serving at voting stations are required to present a negative PCR test result.
Voters on the other hand will not be required to present a negative Covid-19 test result or the Adapass safe pass when voting.
Speaking to the TAK news agency, Şefik gave information regarding the early elections.
A total of 4,634 individuals will serve at the 763 ballot boxes to be set up in all 6 districts across the TRNC.
Şefik said that the High Electoral Council will be informed of Covid-19 positive individuals before voting starts on election day with a list to be sent to them via the Health Ministry.
She added that individuals who are Covid-19 positive will not be allowed to vote and that these individuals will be removed from the premises by police.
Şefik said that the district electoral board will be informed of all individuals who are on the list of positive cases but who have tested negative in the last 24 hours to allow them to vote.
