Daily Covid-19 cases in the TRNC continued to climb on Thursday reaching 1001, the highest daily figure recorded in the TRNC since the outbreak of the virus two years ago.

The Ministry of Health reported that all detected cases were locally transmitted following 20,882 tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

434 cases are from Lefkoşa, 239 from Girne, 242 from Gazimağusa, 50 from Güzelyurt, 12 from İskele, and 24 from Lefke positive cases.

148 people recovered from the virus.

Meanwhile, South Cyprus reported 3,777 positive cases on Thursday, a slight drop from the day before.

Out of the 225 patients in hospital 73 are in critical condition and 29 are on ventilator machines, the south reported.
