The National Unity Party (UBP)-Democrat Party (DP) coalition government’s programme will be debated in parliament on Thursday.
A vote of confidence will be held for the new government a day after the deliberations are completed.
According to parliament’s by-laws, deliberations on the government programme, which was read-out in parliament on Monday, should have begun today, two full days after the reading but was postponed due to events marking the 83rd anniversary of the death of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
Also on Monday, the Parliamentary Advisory Committee agreed on holding elections on January 23, 2022 and to set up an Ad-Hoc committee with the task of amending the law governing elections.
In the meantime, the Council of Ministers which held its first meeting on Tuesday approved the 2022 Draft Fiscal Year Budget sending it to parliament.
Deliberations on the budget will be held at the committee level from November 16-18 before being debated and approved at the General Assembly from November 22-24.
