The Civil Defence Disaster Management and Response Exercise – 2021 which includes the Prime Ministry Disaster Emergency Management Committee and the Crisis Management Centres of Lefkoşa, Gazimağusa, Girne, Güzelyurt and İskele is underway

The Prime Ministry Undersecretary and Head of the Disaster Emergency Management Committee Hüseyin Cahitoğlu held a press conference on Wednesday at the Prime Ministry Disaster Emergency Management Committee meeting room regarding the exercise.

Cahitoğlu said the exercise was being conducted with the participation of ministries, institutions and organizations to test their preparation and intervention capabilities and to determine if there are any areas which require improvement.

He provided information about the activities that took place on the first day which were based on a possible earthquake scenario.

The Distinguished Observer Day of the exercise will be held at the exercise area installed at the Palm Beach area in Gazimağusa this afternoon.
