Dr. Suat Günsel Iskele State Primary School inaugurated

The Dr. Suat Günsel Iskele State Primary School was inaugurated by President Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu, Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Ali Murat Başçeri, Commander of the Security Forces Command Major General Zorlu Topaloğlu, some Ministers, MP’s mayors and the public.

The school is part of the project of the Near East group to provide 6 primary schools in 6 districts.

Delivering the opening speech the Near East University’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. İrfan Günsel said that they were proud to be handing over the school to the ministry at a time when the Republic Day of the TRNC was being celebrated.

The Minister for National Education and Culture Olgun Amcaoğlu for his part thanked the Günsel family for their contributions to the education sector.

Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu praised the Günsel family for the 6 schools in 6 district project and said that it was a miracle that construction has been completed especial now that there is a pandemic.

Explaining that they will not allow for Covid to interrupt the education sector, Sucuoğlu said that as the government they will do whatever it takes to protect the people and improve healthcare services.

President Ersin Tatar said that the message being given to the world with the opening of new schools is very important and added that the Iskele District is a developing area.

Pointing out that there are still people trying to block the way of the TRNC with political obstacles, President Tatar emphasized that the Greek Cypriot side is insisting with its culture of conflict by pushing the hand of peace that is being extended to them.

President Tatar said, “We want an agreement and we want stability in Cyprus. We will always act together with Turkey in the Eastern Mediterranean because Turkey is not only our motherland but also our guarantor country and the largest country in the region” said Tatar.

Stating that it is his greatest wishes for the TRNC to grow stronger and develop, President Tatar stated that the investments and achievements made by the private sector, institutions and organizations are also the success of the country and the time had come for everyone to see this reality.
