Speaking during his visit to BRT on Monday, the leader of the Türkiye’s Democratic Left Party Önder Aksakal said that the Cyprus Issue was a red line for his party.

He said that the TRNC flag has been flying in front of the party building since it was first established 37 years ago.

“We are the only political party that has the TRNC flag flying in front of its headquarters. We support the existence of the TRNC to the very end,” Aksakal added.

He also said that Cyprus was not just important for Türkiye but for world politics as well.

“Talks were held for a federal settlement for many years but the global imperialist system could not suppress the desire to control the whole island,” the DSP leader said.
