Distinguished economy-finance experts and bureaucrats of the country came together at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer, Retired Finance Undersecretary Ahmet Havutçu, the President of the TRNC Public Service Commission, Retired Prime Ministry Undersecretary Ömer Köseoğlu, Academician Finance Expert Kaan Kutlay, Professor of Economics Vedat Yorucu, Economist and Bank Director Bülent Berkay and Presidential Adviser on Political Affairs Anıl Kaya were present at the meeting held under the chairmanship of President Ersin Tatar.
According to information released by the President’s Office, the increase in the commodity prices in the world, volatility in oil prices, the increase in exchange rates and negative inflation expectations were taken up during the meeting.
Proposals aimed at overcoming the high cost of living, price instability, budget deficit and cash deficiency in the country were discussed and external shocks were also analysed during the meeting.
President Ersin Tatar took the initiative to address the current situation of the TRNC economy and to make suggestions to the government in order to restore economic stability and facilitate the transition to inclusive growth by putting domestic economic dynamics into play.
