The 16 km Endurance Marathon was realized in line with the 1st of August Communal Resistance Day celebrations.
An awards ceremony was held for those who took part in the event.
Speaking during the ceremony President Ersin Tatar stated that the Turkish Cypriots have come so far with their strong spirit and strong national ties with Türkiye and added that the Turkish nation had won many victories in August.
Touching upon the games that are being played in the Eastern Mediterranean, President Tatar said that the Turkish Cypriot people are continuing their struggle against all the games and scenarios that are trying to be played in the Eastern Mediterranean, with the support of Motherland Türkiye.
Stating that the oppression faced by Turkish Cypriots in Crans Montana in 2017 was eliminated with the support of Türkiye, Tatar emphasized that foreign forces were trying to break the ties that exist between Türkiye and the Turkish Cypriot people but added that these attempts will always fail.
The deputy head of the TMT Fighters Association Celal Bayar also said a few words at the ceremony.
He stated that the Security Forces Command, which was established 46 years ago, took over the task from the Turkish Resistance Organization and continues to be the assurance of the TRNC and the Turkish Cypriot people with its improving conditions, training and equipment.
