FM Ertuğruloğlu attended OIC Foreign Ministers meeting

Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu attended the extraordinary meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Afghanistan held in the Pakistani capital Islamabad.

The meeting started with an opening speech by Pakistani Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shan Mahmood Quereshi.

Addressing the participants, Foreign Minister Ertuğruloğlu pointed out that one of the biggest humanitarian plights was being experienced in Afghanistan.

He added that urgent support of the international community, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in particular was needed to address the issue.

Stressing that the international community, in addition to Afghanistan, should extend a hand to the people of Palestine, the TRNC Foreign Minister expressed the view that a two state solution to be found on the Palestine issue will bring peace and stability to the Middle East.

Meanwhile, as part of his contacts, Ertuğruloğlu also came together with the Secretary General of the OIC Hissein Brahim Taha and foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Sierra Leone and Gabon.
