Foreign Minister Hasan Taçoy said that 10 Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) citizens who are currently in Ukraine have contacted the TRNC representation office in Budapest, Hungary.

He said that all ten were in good health and reported no problems.

Speaking to BRT, Taçoy said that necessary steps will be taken to evacuate the TRNC citizens if the need arises.

“Our citizens contacted our representation office to inform us of their presence in the country. So far they have no requests. Currently there is a street curfew. We can evacuate our citizens with the support of the Republic of Turkiye if the need arises,” he said.

Taçoy renewed a call to TRNC citizens who are permanently residing in or visiting Ukraine to contact the TRNC Representation Office in Budapest and to exercise full caution regarding their safety.
