A funeral will be held for Martyr Şevket Mustafa Gürsoy this afternoon in Lefkoşa.

Gürsoy who had died in Mersin Turkey on June 4 1964, a year after being transferred to a hospital for his injuries received during attacks by Greek Cypriots in 1963 will be laid to rest with full military honours.

His body was exhumed from his grave in Turkey and transferred to the TRNC.

According to information obtained from the Society for Martyrs’ and War Veterans the ceremony will take place at the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Lefkoşa at 4pm.
