The Minister of Health Ünal Üstel on Sunday renewed a call to the public to get vaccinated against Covid-19.

He said that vaccination centres had been stocked up with vaccines.

The health minister released the latest vaccination coverage figures as well as a statement on rapid test centres.

Üstel said that so far 450,297 people had received a Covid-19 vaccine, 277,155 had received their first dose, 223,142 people had received their second dose and 40,909 persons had received their third, booster shot.

According to the figures, 58.41 per cent of the population have received their first shot and 59.47 per cent their second shots.

Üstel reminded that the vaccine was the most effective weapon against Covid-19.

He also said that the number of centres carrying out rapid tests has been increased.

“I would like to remind everyone that weekly rapid tests required of students can be carried out any day of the week. So there is no need to queue up at test centres,” Üstel added.
