The Organization of Turkic States in cooperation with the Turkish Language Association; organised the ‘Unity in Language, Idea and Work’ Turkic World Literature Awards, the 2022 Service to the Turkish Language Awards and the Turkish World Common Alphabet Workshop which was held in Bursa.
İsmail Bozkurt from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was deemed worthy of the “Unity in Language, Idea and Work Turkish World Literature Awards”, which was given for the first time.
While Mr. Bozkurt was presented with the award by the Head of the Aksakal Delegation of the Organization of Turkic States Binali Yıldırım, Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu presented Prof. Dr. Recep Toparlı with the 2022 Turkish Language Service Award.
In his speech at the opening of the events, Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) continues to thrive as a Turkish homeland thanks to the support provided by Motherland Türkiye.
“The Turkish Cypriots are one of the first to implement the letter revolution. If you are looking for Anatolian traditions and customs, the purest of them is in Cyprus” said Çavuşoğlu and added that although the Turkish Cypriot people have experienced many difficulties and have been victimised they have never given up on their homeland, their culture language or heritage.
Meanwhile, President Ersin Tatar telephoned and congratulated İsmail Bozkurt, who received an award and wished him success in his future endeavours.
Stating that every award received is very important for the TRNC, Tatar said that this development is a sign that the Turkish Cypriot people are an inseparable part of the Turkic world.
“While the works of İsmail Bozkurt make an important contribution to our history, it has been a step towards overcoming the embargoes applied to the Turkish Cypriots” said Tatar.
