Today is June 30 Police Day.
President Ersin Tatar issued a message to congratulate the Police Force on the 59th anniversary of its establishment.
In his congratulatory message, President Ersin Tatar said that the police force carried out its duties to serve and protect society as well as to maintain public order with great dedication.
He said that the police force continued to upgrade itself each passing day, becoming more active, coordinated and swifter.
“The recent wildfire demonstrated just how much potential and capable this structure which has the police and fire fighting service operating underneath are,” Tatar added.
He said that the force continues to serve as an exemplary public institution since the day it was formed, protecting the individual rights and freedoms of the public while also addressing society’s needs.
Tatar concluded his message by expressing his gratitude to the Cyprus Turkish Security Forces under which the police force operates and wished all active and non-active police personnel a happy June 30 Police Day.
